Director Software Development, IBM Cloud & Smarter Infrastructure

In August 2011 Kendall was appointed Director of Cloud Provisioning and Orchestration Solutions, leading teams within the US, Canada, Ireland, Poland, Germany, Italy, India and China.  In this role, Kendall has worked on establishing a family of SmartCloud products, combining assets and technologies from Tivoli, AIM, STG, and Research, and built upon OpenStack as a foundation.

Kendall has held a wide variety of positions in his IBM career, starting as a developer and later becoming a key architect in IBM's Workgroup products.  He was part of the team that succeeded in acquiring Lotus, and then went to join Lotus as a new manager, bringing his key leadership into Lotus Notes as well as connectivity to all of IBM's previous OfficeVision platforms.

Kendall next joined Tivoli in its Network Management area, working on both network monitoring tools and service-provider infrastructure technology.  Kendall then returned to his engineering roots as the technical strategist for Tivoli's Performance and Automation portfolio.  After transitioning back into development as the Director of Monitoring for Application, Availability Business Service Management (AABSM), he then shifted into a role as Director of Application Management products, where he led teams in Raleigh, Austin, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Beijing, Perth and the Ukraine.  From there, Kendall accepted a job overseas as the leader of IBM’s development laboratory in Rome, Italy, responsible for both a worldwide development team and the Services mission for SWG within that region.

Kendall is a huge music fan and an occasional basketball player.  Kendall is a graduate of the University of Texas.  Hook ‘em Horns!
