Chris is the VP of Technical Operations at Shutterstock, in that role he creates the strategic vision and oversees the implementation of Shutterstock's operations roadmap.  Chris was driving force behind moving Shutterstock from a traditional systems group to a diverse set of operations teams ready to tackle today's distributed challenges.  These groups include infrastructure tools, site reliability, data infrastructure, and web operations. 

Chris began his career in HPC compute environments at the University of Colorado and since has spent his entire career in high growth startups tackling serious scaling challenges.  He's passionate about distributed networking and software orchestrated / defined everything.  Shutterstock's environment focuses on hiring the best automation engineers in the industry and is constantly driving to create a fully api / developer driven cloud to serve its growing business.
